Description
Summary:This article is about a recent collection by Wendat playwright Yves Sioui Durand, outlining his dramaturgical, spiritual and theoretical approach. These texts expose a spiritual vision for the decolonization of indigenous peoples. They can also lead theology to reconsider itself in its disciplinary benchmarks inherited from a colonial project. Sioui Durand’s proposal sheds light not only on the decline of the indigenous pastoral project of recent decades in the Catholic Church, but also on the options explored in theology as it faces the intercultural challenge. We will end by outlining the avenues of a possible theology to meet the indigenous “resurgence”.
