Summary:The radical is indispensable because he introduces and makes familiar new ideas. It is important that such ideas should have a free opportunity for discussion. Even an extreme statement helps to discover the truth. A church which does not make radicals welcome will be encouraging the rise of hostile radicals who destroy rather than build up. This point is illustrated in the case of the conscientious objector against war. On the other hand, the young radical should always be sure of his facts if he wishes to be of influence.
