Description
Summary:The aim of this article is to shed a light on the Iron Age pottery from ROLF HACHMANN's excavation at Kāimid el-Lōz located in the southeastern part of the Beqāʿ plain carried out between 1963 and 1981. The study focuses on the typological types of the Iron Age pottery and on the main characteristics of the assemblages. Bowls, jugs, juglets, pyxides, pilgrim flasks, jars, and pithoi were found in the three Building Periods from different areas at Kāimid el-Lōz. All materials from HACHMANN's excavation were dated to the Iron Age I, but the present study dates the pottery of Kāimid el-Lōz from the end of the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age II.
