Summary: | The 1959 Detroit Area Study of the University of Michigan furnished data on Protestant-Catholic marriages. Not only is their frequency analyzed, but also the antecedent characteristics such as proximate ethnic origin, level of education, and mixed marriage in the parental pair. Using a smaller sample, these marriages are examined in relationship to the subsequent church attendance, talk of religion at home, contacts with relatives, and growth of interest in religion. |
