Description
Summary:The research reported here analyzes the assertion that the New Christian Right, the Oregon Citizens Alliance in this case, is becoming more pluralistic and secular as it adapts to the American political process. The data indicate an adoption of pluralist and secular rhetoric as a strategic political move without a transformation of the organization into a more secular and pluralistic body. The private language and actions of the OCA indicate a desire to remain exclusionary. OCA conflicts with conservative churches, the Republican party and other NCR organizations are evaluated.
