| Zusammenfassung: | In the prologue of his Logica, Wyclif says that the tract he is about to write is aimed at explaining the logic of Scripture (ad declarandam logicam sacrae scripturae). But what exactly does the expression ‘logica sacrae scripturae’ mean, and, more importantly, why does Wyclif make such an association? In this paper, I argue for the following answer: Wyclif straightforwardly identifies logic and Scripture, and he does so because it follows from the necessary convergence of philosophical and theological truth. This convergence, in turn, is a key feature of his thought, and is directly dependent on Augustine’s influence.\n4207 \n4207 |
