Description
Summary:This paper examines the relationship between professionalism and the resolution of authority conflicts among Catholic clergy. The data were gathered from 166 priests in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. in the spring of 1969. The major hypothesis of this study is that the more professional a priest is, the more he will tend to resolve authority conflicts contrary to traditional norms established by the hierarchy of Church officials. The evidence of this study strongly supports such an hypothesis.
