| Summary: | Bonaventure examines the School’s definition of the person as an “individuated substance distinguished by a property”, and demonstrates its significance for theology, angelology and anthropology. He reminds Latin theology that, although they refer to relations, divine persons are nevertheless individuals. And, in typically Franciscan style, he finds that the lower rank occupied by human beings, as compared with angels, is a property that marks their eminence, qualifying them as specifically human persons. RésuméExaminant la définition scolaire de la personne comme « substance individuée que distingue une propriété », Bonaventure montre sa pertinence en matière théologique, angélologique et anthropologique : il rappelle aux Latins que les personnes divines, pour désigner des relations, n’en sont pas moins des individus, et découvre, d’une manière toute franciscaine, dans la basse position de l’homme par rapport à l’ange la matière d’une éminente propriété qui le consacre comme personne spécifiquement humaine. |
