| Summary: | The aim of the article is to illustrate the relationship between the Alevi minority and the AKP, after the phase of rebirth of Alevi’s political engagement. In the first part, there will be a brief presentation of the Alevi minority, followed by a description of the main Alevi groups and of the phenomenon called “Alevi rebirth”. In the following of the article, there will be a presentation of initiative called “Alevi openings” which was the government’s answer to the Alevis’ requests. The purpose of the article is to explain how the governing party managed the relationship with one of the most important Turkish minorities and to identify why AKP’s initiatives failed in granting to the Alevis the respect of their fundamental rights as a minority |
