The most relevant application reported by the Brethren is the medical, and we can find in their theory a fascinating weaving of Greek and Arabic knowledge. We can find at the same time philosophy, esoteric doctrines, astronomy, and so on. Therefore the fifth epistle is a fundamental text to enlightened the history of music in the Islamic world. |
