Summary: | The Serbian ethno-religious war against the Muslim Bosniaks in the 1990’s has re-focused world attention on a part of Europe which, in the second half of the twentieth century, had become a geopolitical backwater. The purpose of this study is to present the clash of religions in the region from a historical perspective and to show that this area has always been one of the most turbulent areas of European- an area in which religious passions and a spirit of historical mission drive these nations and tribes towards aggressive expansionism. |
