| Summary: | History and Science of Religion are disciplines whose processes of academic formation go back to the nineteenth century, when, around the 1860s, a great debate began on the methodological question. This article, using the category of "normal science" by Thomas S. Kuhn, aims to compare the conception of history, based on the reflections of Johann Gustav Droysen (1808-1884), with the proposal of Science of Religion, Formulated by Friedrich Max Müller (1823-1900). With this comparison, it is expected to be possible to provide elements to reflect on the following question: from a methodological point of view, would the History of Religions be more linked to the History or Science of Religion? |
