These elegance patterns - which achieved its apex during the 1950s, -were influenciated by schools run by French nuns established in increasing numbers from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Such confessional institutions found in Santa Cruz land a perfect place to develop their teaching methods, which was based on the figure of Mary - Mother of God, mainly after the feminization of the Catholicism that occurred in the 19th century.
