Description
Summary:The study is a bibliographical review that intends to reflect on the Religious Pluralism defended by Peter Berger, as well as the origins, conceptual bases and applications of the Pluralist Principle proposed by Cláudio Ribeiro. The examination shows that the subject is much debated and has become a concern of several scholars, in addition to being addressed in various fields of knowledge, religious pluralism has gained prominence in the field of studies of the Science(s) of Religion(s) and Theology. Both authors seek, in different ways, to problematize the religious plurality present on the globe. Berger, the sociologist, uses the paradigm of religious pluralism to explain the changes brought about by modernity in terms of religion. Ribeiro, the theologian, proposes as a hermeneutic method of theological analysis of this plural and religious reality the Pluralist Principle.
