| Summary: | The aim of this study is to map the development of Brno's Muslim community and its integration into Czech cultural environment. The study concentrates on perception of the Brno's mosque by the inhabitants of Brno, the capital of Southern Moravia. It consists firstly, of an analysis of media coverage of Brno's Muslim community and of the Muslims living in Brno and secondly, of a quantitative opinion poll conducted among the non-Muslim inhabitants of Brno. The aim of this poll was to determine perception of the Muslim minority by Brno's inhabitants and to find out to what extend they are influenced by their religious images and cultural stereotypes. |
