Description
Summary:Numerous events on the political stage of most countries have indicated the active involvement of women. However, that has not been given on a silver platter, since constant and continuous agitation for women empowerment and liberation from different governmental and non-governmental organisations have helped them thus far. This has equally forced most countries to set aside certain percentage of their political posts for women to occupy, as if there was a part of the constitution that denied them that initially. It is interesting to note that some Muslim women activists have indulged in calling for Muslim women’s involvement in politics since no passage of the Qur’an or hadith has denied them that. This, however, has not been the stand of some Muslim scholars who feel that women’s primary task does not involve politics. These divergent views will be reviewed within the context of tawhidi methodological worldview. This becomes essential in view of the fact that if the Muslims allow the negativity of the world to get to them, they would sink as surely as a ship taking on water.
