Description
Summary:The concept of Christ's redemptive death is the central element of the biblical New Testament Theology and the Gospel; not only faith, but also good knowledge of biblical texts, their contextual understanding and critical thinking is required to understand it. The concept is clearly detectable in the theological interpretations of the Crucifixion event throughout the history of the church, and despite objections of skeptics, it has not lost its relevance in the modern world and by no means should be abandoned as oldfashioned. Nowadays people can find the subject understandable and interesting if offered in an appropriate language and approach. The psychological and symbolic categories will not be helpful because they are soon exhausted and they do not answer the essential questions of humanity. The best way to talk of the death of Christ today is to talk about its importance and consistency in the context of spiritual growth, relationships and ethics, according to the content of the New Testament texts themselves.
