| Summary: | Compared to Ancient Near East’ founding narratives, the myths of the African traditional societies are not very well known, but they are very useful to understand the deep structures of the African way of thinking, but also the relations between the Africans and the world, the divine and the sacred. This mainly religious "world view" is delivered to us by founding narratives which, by their capacity to recall the origins of things, are the main source of religious knowledge within the continent black. Peu connus par rapport à ceux du Proche-Orient ancien, les mythes des sociétés traditionnelles africaines constituent des révélateurs de premier ordre des structures profondes de la pensée de l’homme africain et des rapports que celui-ci entretient avec le monde, le divin et le sacré. Cette « vision du monde », essentiellement religieuse, nous est livrée par des récits fondateurs, qui, grâce à leur capacité à remonter aux origines des choses, constituent la principale source du savoir religieux du continent noir. Through the question of beginnings, this contribution suggests to study the way founding myths structure the faiths and the religious rites in sub-Saharan Africa. It aspires to show that the myth is a present reality, experienced through the religious life in this part of the continent. À travers la question des commencements sous-tendue par l’adverbe interrogatif « quand », cette contribution propose d’étudier à nouveau frais la manière dont les mythes fondateurs structurent les croyances et les rites religieux en Afrique subsaharienne. Elle ambitionne de montrer que le mythe, par l’importance accordée aux récits fondateurs, est une réalité présente et vécue dans le champ religieux de cette partie du continent. |
