Racial discrimination, xenophobia and the intolerance associated with it are displayed in a different way towards women and girls, and may be among the factors that lead to the deterioration of their living conditions, produce poverty, violence and many forms of discrimination. Many women encounter additional obstacles that prevent them from enjoying their basic rights because of their race, their language, their ethnic origin, their culture, their religion or their socio-economic situation, or because they are members of a native population, migrants, displaced or refugees. |
