East Meets West: Parallels Between Zen Buddhism and Social Psychology

Connections between Zen Buddhist philosophy and empirical social psychology were explored. After a brief overview of Buddhist thought, parallels between Zen and social psychology were examined in four general areas: attachment, thought, the self, and awareness.
