| Summary: | We received a message about your somewhat incomprehensible attitude towards the teaching of religious studies at higher educational institutions. If your experience at Lviv University gives you a reason to conclude that there is atheism, this is far from the case. I do not have the opportunity to get into the details, but only to add to this letter our work "Academic Religious Studies," the content of which will give you an opportunity to understand what kind of problems should be taught by those who are the teacher of religious studies. One can agree with you that many of those who taught atheism at one time failed to overcome themselves and realize that religious studies may be intertwined with an ideological paradigm - atheistic or theological, but it can and should be academic , the basic principles of which are objectivity, historicism, non-confessionalism, polyspectry and tolerance. До нас надійшла вістка про Ваше дещо незрозуміле нам ставлення до викладання у вузах курсу з релігієзнавства. Якщо Ваш львівськоуніверситетський досвід дає Вам підставу для висновку, що то є атеїзм, то це далеко не так. Я не маю тут можливості вникати в деталі, а лише додаю до цього листа нашу працю «Академічне релігієзнавство», зміст якої вже дасть Вам можливість зрозуміти, який обсяг проблем мали б викладати ті, хто значиться викладачем релігієзнавства. Можна погодитися з Вами в тому, що багато хто з тих, хто викладав свого часу курс атеїзму, не змогли здолати себе і зрозуміти, що релігієзнавство може бути заангажованим на якусь світоглядну парадигму - атеїстичну чи богословську, але ж воно може і має бути й академічним, основними принципами якого є об’єктивність, історизм, позаконфесійність, полісвітоглядність і толерантність. |
