| Summary: | The article analyzes the catechesis developed with young people in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Parish, situated in the city of Goiânia/GO. Through ethnography, we seek to understand catechesis as a space that produces non-formal educational processes in the Catholic institution, aiming to identify the social representations and identities built since religious education, especially in the context of the intensification of pluralism and religious transit. The proposal is to map the strategies triggered by Catholicism in Goiás to re-signify practices and appropriate multiple signs in order to maintain belonging, the diffusion of traditions and avoid the loss of believers. We found that, through catechesis, the institution bets on negotiation with youth interests and on the realization of concessions that operate in order to face deinstitutionalization. |
