| Summary: | Este trabalho teve como objetivo estabelecer a perspectiva do protestantismo brasileiro frente à organização social e política do Estado republicano, considerando que essa temporalidade coincidia com a consolidação do protestantismo no Brasil. Tomamos a iniciativa de investigar este tema por considerar que a literatura disponível sobre a problemática é ocasional e rarefeita, e passível de revisões imprescindíveis. A pesquisa se restringiu à análise do Manifesto à Nação, documento oriundo do I Congresso Evangélico Brasileiro, realizado em 1931, promovido pela Federação de Igrejas Evangélicas e, por isso mesmo, representativo como síntese do pensamento político protestante. A partir do aporte teórico da história das ideias e da metodologia da análise documental, a investigação permitiu concluir que o protestantismo foi efetivamente um dos sujeitos que se apresentaram para o debate do ordenamento político do Brasil republicano. This study aimed to establish a perspective of Brazilian Protestantism facing the social and political organization of the Republican State, considering that this temporality coincided with the consolidation of Protestantism in Brazil. The initiative to investigate this issue was taken by considering that the available literature on the issue is occasional and rarefied, and need urgent revisions. The research focused in the analysis of the Manifest to the Nation, a document originated at the First Evangelical Brazilian Congress, held in 1931, sponsored by the Federation of Evangelical Churches and, therefore, representative as a synthesis of Protestant political thought. From the theoretical perspective of the history of ideas and the methodology of document analysis, the research allowed to conclude that Protestantism was actually one of the subjects who showed up for the debate on the political ordering of republican Brazil. |
