| Summary: | O presente artigo trata da relação estabelecida por Schopenhauer entre filosofia e religião tendo por base o critério da busca pela verdade. Schopenhauer compreende que a verdade atemporal e incondicional deve ser a estrela-guia da filosofia e que as religiões são suas representações alegóricas e mitológicas. A partir deste critério qualitativo, pode-se escalonar as religiões na medida em que se aproximam ou se distanciam do seu pessimismo metafísico. This article deals with the relation established by Schopenhauer between philosophy and religion, having the search for truth as criterion. Schopenhauer understands timeless and unconditional truth to be the lodestar of philosophy, while religions are its allegorical and mythological representations. On the basis of this qualitative criterion, it is possible to scale religions as they approach or distance themselves from his metaphysical pessimism. |
