Description
Summary:One of the five dimensions of religious beliefs according to Stark and Glock’s classified grid is called the ideological dimension. It is closely related to the conviction that a religious person has a certain theological worldview and recognises the truth of his or her religious dogma. Each religion has a certain set of beliefs that its believers should consider personal. Władysław Piwowarski points out that the religion sociologist asks when to analyse the religious dimension in question , whether followers of a catholic religion accept the truths of faith proclaimed by their Church, or perhaps whether some question or reject them explicitly, and if so, what are the reasons. In a study conducted in Koszalin-Kołobrzeg diocese, respondents were asked to provide answers that would show the degree to which the Truths of the Catholic Faith are accepted, as well as reflection the doctrine covered by dogmatic rigor in the minds of respondents. The presented analysis discusses five types of dogma of the Catholic Faith: theocentric, Christological, Mariological, eschatological and ecclesial. Preparing the criteria for verification of the extent of the dogma acceptance by respondents, certain documents of the Roman Catholic Church were employed, due to the fact that nearly 99% of respondents were baptised in this rite.
