| Summary: | In order to exist, one must be perceived today. Therefore various cultural phenomena dynamically compete for the attention of the public. The role of images in shaping public opinion, people’s beliefs, as well as perpetuating stereotypes is significantly increased. Hence there is the need for in-depth reflection on both the functions of visual culture in the field of imaging the relationship between religion and terrorism, as well as the very concept of religious terrorism. The wide range of visual representations of terror can be observed particularly while observing the strategies of the media and the arts - although, despite many similarities, these areas are guided by a completely different logic. |
