Summary:Criminality of minors is a phenomena with a diverse etiology - it has its origins in the educational insufficiency of the family, media influence, as well in genetic loads. The modern world brings more and more a concern into attention about the future of the young generation, increasing unemployment, poverty, and difficulties in choosing such an education that could give a guarantee of employment according to the qualifications owned. This causes that life perspectives of adolescents seem to be insecure and unpredictable. Contemporary reality, in which the youth grows up, might be defined in categories of a crisis of values and true authorities. Young people become lost when facing the dilemmas of the modern world and the growing expectations towards them. The youth needs especially moral authorities. Criminality, just like other deviant behaviors (suicide attempts, addictions), and alternative ideologies contradictory to the teachings of the Church, seems to be the answer of the young generation to the state of anomy, characterizing the modern world. Criminality of minors is an alarming in both, the individual and the social dimension. Effective prevention of criminality among minors should involve every single subjects of social agency, such as: schools, educational and rehabilitation institutions, and the Church.
