| Summary: | In the course of this life, often little known by the readers of Chrétiens sans Église or of the latest Pascalian research, Kołakowski grew up in the world of real socialism and of "Marxist theory" the dominant ideology tied to him. How did he go through this universe? How did he get away from it? What kind of evolutions in his conceptions of knowledge affected the transformations of the Polish philosopher’s thoughts? What conception of religion springs out of these transformations, for a man who, right from the start, lived in the Marxist and Catholic world that Poland never ceased to be? We are here attempting to answer these questions, within the framework of a dossier aiming to grasp all at once the different faces of a single person. Kołakowski, dans une trajectoire souvent méconnue par les lecteurs de Chrétiens sans Église ou des dernières recherches pascaliennes, a grandi dans le monde du socialisme réel et de la « théorie marxiste » qui lui était liée comme son idéologie dominante. Comment a-t-il traversé cet univers ? Comment s’en est-il éloigné ? Quelles évolutions dans ses conceptions de la connaissance ont-elles marqué les transformations de la pensée du philosophe polonais ? Quelle conception de la religion est-elle issue de ces transformations pour un homme qui, dès le départ, vit dans le monde marxiste et catholique que ne cessa jamais d’être la Pologne ?
