| Résumé: | This article proposes an approach to qualitative sociological inquiry which integrates varied Christian worldviews, Hans-Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutics, and Critical Realism (CR) in developing a more comprehensive paradigm. Embracing the complexities and nuances inherent within Christian faith, a multiplicity of worldviews enriches sociological analysis by capturing the diversity of Christian perspectives. Furthermore, drawing on Gadamer’s hermeneutical framework and emphasizing the importance of interpreting social phenomena through the lens of diverse worldviews allows for a deeper understanding of the subjective experiences and authentic expressions of individuals and communities. Moreover, integrating CR by acknowledging the existence of both objective reality and transcendent truths recognizes the limitations of human knowledge and perception. By embracing CR, sociologists can navigate the interplay between faith and reason, grounding their inquiries in empirical evidence while remaining open to supernatural truths. This proposed model offers a methodological framework that fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, enhances the depth of sociological analysis, and promotes a nuanced understanding of the complex interrelationships between religion, society, and human experiences. |
