Description
Summary:Ethics was one of the main themes in Melanchthon's works. His contribution developed consequences for this realm that came from the new perspective about human action allowed by the protestant Reformation. At the same time, his humanist education was both a motivation and a font of contributions for the interaction between the heritage of the new theological perspective and classical philosophical tradition. His historic situation points, therefore, to the possibility to recognize contributions for the future development of Modernity, although, in his case, the relative autonomy of the rational realm (witch encompasses science, ethics and politics) does not mean independence in relation to religion.
