Description
Summary:A leading Japanese lawyer explains why, notwithstanding the media slander, he decided to represent the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (formerly Unification Church) against the government’s threat to dissolve it. He then discusses the grounds for dissolving a religious corporation under Japan’s Religious Corporation Act. He concludes that the Family Federation does not meet this act’s criteria for dissolution and asks the question whether the request for dissolution is not based on political expediency rather than on solid legal grounds.
