Description
Summary:This essay is an update on the emerging religious movement in the People's Republic of China known as the Confucian Congregation, focusing on significant changes over the last few years. The major changes include a rural-to-urban shift in focus, dichotomization of the organization, re-composition of leadership and membership, changes in routine rituals and worship, and changing strategies in activities and development. We conclude with discussions of sociocultural issues in the macroscopic backdrop of this changing movement, as well as some possible challenges for future development.
