| Summary: | How is the philosophical relation of morphology, biology and technology? This review of five scholarly books deals with architecture theory, bionics, soft robotics, media ecology and general evolution theory. The explanatory value of extending models for biological evolution to the cultural and social sphere is questioned both on the hermeneutic and on the methodological level. Overall, morphology can serve as a valuable paradigm in the sciences.
