| Zusammenfassung: | L’articolo esplora il rapporto tra il racconto oracolare di Creso sul test degli oracoli (Hdt. I 46-48) e l’Inno omerico a Hermes dal punto di vista della logica narrativa, della struttura e dei contenuti. A partire dal seminale articolo di M. Dobson del 1979 il presente lavoro si propone di dimostrare che la relazione tra i due testi è più profonda di quanto emerge dal lavoro della studiosa: analizzando il contesto narrativo erodoteo, emerge infatti che entrambi i testi risultano strutturati intorno a tematiche comuni, e che vi sono caratteristiche narrative analoghe tanto tra Hermes e Creso quanto per l’Apollo delfico. In linea con Dobson, che vede nel vaticinio un moral reprimand al re lidio, si approfondisce la complessa relazione tra Creso ed Hermes in rapporto alle caratteristiche del re lidio nella narrazione erodotea. The article explores the relationship between Croesus' oracular story of the oracles' test (Hdt. I 46-48) and the Homeric Hymn to Hermes, taking into consideration the narrative logic, the structure and content. Starting from the seminal article by M. Dobson of 1979 the present work aims at showing that the relationship between the two texts is deeper than what emerges from Dobson’s work: through the analysis of the Herodotean narrative context it emerges that both texts are structured around common themes, and that there are similar narrative characteristics for Hermes and Croesus as well as for the Delphic Apollo. In line with Dobson, who sees in the oracular response a moral reprimand to the Lydian king, it deepens the complex relationship between Croesus and Hermes in regard to the characteristics of the Lydian king within the Herodotean narration. |
