Description
Résumé:The contemporary field of theology and science owes much to the scholarly contributions of Ian G. Barbour. He came of age when a disruptive bifurcation was occurring for some Christians along Fundamentalist-Modernist lines, with profound implications for the Christian reception of science. Barbour set out to promote a harmonious interaction between natural science and the Christian religion. Appreciating the important mediating role of philosophy in the theology-science field, he demonstrated the essential roles of epistemology and metaphysics in this interdisciplinary space. This journal owes much to his pioneering work.
