| Summary: | The foundational teachings of Islam, which emphasize the elements of iman, islam, and ihsan, are found to possess a systematic methodology for maintaining mental health harmony. The shortcomings of Western psychological approaches in addressing human spiritual needs have prompted efforts to explore Islamic heritage as an alternative solution to mental health issues. Consequently, the content of Islamic teachings, which emphasize values of safety, well-being, harmony, and mercy, can be utilized as a psychotherapeutic method grounded in the application of religious values to achieve happiness through spiritual, mental, emotional, and behavioral treatment and recovery. Therefore, this study aims to explore the Prophetic psychotherapy approach based on the internalization of iman, islam, and ihsan as a mental health intervention through a thematic analysis of Sahih al-Bukhari hadith. A total of 246 hadith were selected and analyzed according to seven themes developed based on the theory of the development of ʿaql (intellect), qalb (heart), and nafs (self). The results of the fiqh al-Hadith analysis were then synthesized into 27 elements of Prophetic psychotherapy centered on strengthening faith by reinforcing worship practices and applying praiseworthy morals (akhlak mahmudah). In conclusion, the application of this Prophetic psychotherapy represents an effort to awaken the potential of monotheism (tauhid) within the self through the internalization of iman, islam, and ihsan, thereby enabling individuals to become resilient in facing trials, stress, and life challenges. |
