| Résumé: | A proposta do artigo é compreender a importância da teologia para a abordagem de Paul Ricoeur sobre o sentido da história. O caminho escolhido para a investigação foi a leitura de textos da primeira parte da trajetória filosófica do autor compreendida entre as décadas de 1940 e 1960. Para tanto, focalizamos especialmente o ensaio Cristianismo e sentido da história incluído em História e verdade. Nesse sentido, destacamos, especialmente, a importância dos argumentos de João Calvino e Santo Agostinho para o pensamento teológico de Ricoeur. Durante a pesquisa procuramos compreender de maneira mais específica de que modo Ricoeur emprega categorias teológicas como esperança, mistério e sentido para pensar o sentido da existência histórica. The proposal of this article is to understand the relevance of theology for Paul Ricoeur’s approach to the meaning of history. The strategy chosen in the investigation was the reading of works that cover the first part of Ricoeur’s philosophical path between 1940s and 1960s. We especially focus on the essay Christianity and the meaning of history included in History and truth. To do so, we highlight, especially, the importance of the arguments of John Calvin and Saint Augustine for Ricoeur’s theological thought. We seek to understand throughout the research the way as Ricoeur uses the theological categories such as hope, mistery and meaning to think about the meaning of historical existence. |
