Während nach ägyptischen Glaubensvorstellungen die gottgegebene Ordnung ständig gegen das heranbrandende Chaos, vorgestellt als Feuermeer, verteidigt werden mußte, siegt im Wettkampfmythos des Zoroaster (Zarathustra) endgültig der Kosmos über das Chaos. Auch Jesus verkündete mit dem Herannahen des Reiches Gottes "eine vollständige Verwandlung" dieser Welt in allernächster Zukunft und überwand damit die noch dualistische Eschatologie seiner Jünger. Mit ausführlichen Anmerkungen und einem Register. Das Buch ist ähnlich einzusetzen wie H.-J. Braun: "Das Jenseits" (ID 21/96) und dürfte aber nicht nur die religionsgeschichtliche und theologische Fachwelt ansprechen, sondern wegen der Darstellung zur jeweiligen Siedlungsgeschichte und politischen Struktur auch Historiker und Schüler.
