Description
Résumé:This article seeks to analyze the discourses on the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) presented by three evangelical newspapers, the Mensageiro da Paz, Jornal Show da Fé and the Folha Universal during the first six months of 2020. This is a qualitative approach which intends to employ some categories of analysis from Critical Discourse Studies (CDS) to understand the process of (re) production of information and the control mechanisms that make up the religious discourse. From an overview of the presence of confessional and laics statements in official evangelical media in a pandemic context, the article seeks to investigate the strategies used by these religious denominations and what type of discourse control emerges from these relationships.
