Description
Résumé:This article analyes the journey of the renowned Pai-de-santo Cleon de Oxalá, from Porto Alegre to the African province of Cabinda, which took place in June 2012. For him, it was the dream of knowing the land of his religious ancestors and the accomplishment of the mission of bringing to his "home" a portion of land from Cabinda, to symbolically seal the bond between the two sacred spaces. However, the fulfillment of the dream was accompanied by disenchantment with the situation of the "traditional" Cabinda religion on African soil, which led Pai Cleon to conclude that the true religion of his ancestors is no longer in Africa but in Rio Grande do Sul.
