Zusammenfassung:To what extent does the family-belief system of Catholic women in Catholic colleges differ from that of Catholic woman in non-sectarian institutions? If differences exist are they due to selectivity or to the influence of the college itself? These questions are answered by a study of approximately 6,700 Catholic women in a probability sample of 45 colleges and universities throughout the United States. Although not without qualification, the main conclusion is that selectivity is more important than college experience in explaining differentials in the family-belief system of Catholic women in Catholic and non-sectarian colleges.
