Description
Summary:In this article we analyze the relationship between faith and the teleological suspension of ethics in the opus Fear and Trembling, by the Danish Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, present in Problem I of this publication. The objective is to infer faith as the superior and paradoxical condition of human existence, not understanding by reason. In order to reach this objective, Fear and Trembling will be presented briefly, the concepts of faith and teleological suspension of ethics in Problem I will be interpreted and the dialectical relationship between faith and ethics will be analyzed. Kierkegaard's thinking allows us to conclude that faith is inapprehensible by reason, typified by ethics in the work in question, presents existential and relational elements not limited to rationality, and lived in the interiority, which finds ultimate meaning in the transcendent.
