| Summary: | ReligiousharmonyandsocialprogressareessentialrequirementsforthegrowthanddevelopmentofanyNationorevenanycongrigation.Withoutbothofthem,itisdifficultforanationoragroupofpeopletoprogressindifferentfields.Developmentispossibleonlywhenallthecitizensofacountrysupporttheprogresswhole-heartedly.Itisunquestionablytruethatwithoutharmony,therecanbenopeace;andwithoutpeacetherecanbenoprogress.Religiousharmonyisofprimeimportance.Peopleofdifferentreligiousfaithscoexistinpluralisticsociety;ifanyclashofideasoccurs,thismayleadtoseriousdisharmonywhichcanhampertheprogressofasociety,andcountry.Societiesandcountriesthatriddenwiththeproblemsofdisharmonyareterriblybackward.Large-scalereligiousandsocialviolenceandriotshaveperiodicallyoccurredinNigeriasinceitsindependencefromBritishcolonialrule1960.TherenodoubtthatNigeriastillexperiencesomekindofEthno-religiousconflictsontillthismoment.ThisresearchprovidesanIslamicviewonPeacefulCo-ExistenceofVariousReligionsinaNationwithdifferentethnicsandreligious.TheresearcherusedtheanalyticalmethodaswellasaqliandNaqli(revealedKnowledgeandHumanScience)approachinexplainingtheissueandsuggestingsolutions.ThisresearchfoundthatSincesocialprogressanddevelopmentdependsomuchupon peaceandharmony,thepeopleofNigeriamustmaintainthembyallmeans;theyshouldcomeforwardandresolvetheissuesthatoftenfuelcommunal riots and strike by peaceful means. |
