| Summary: | O presente artigo busca dar uma visão histórica do protestantismo em território argentino, remontando ao início da presença de imigrantes protestantes, europeus e americanos nesse país. Tenta, também, evidenciar as diferenciações existentes entreas duas categorias de Igrejas protestantes que brotaram em solo argentino: as Igrejas de Missão, que se propõem à evangelização de todos, utilizando-se do idioma do país que os acolhera, e as Igrejas de Imigração, voltadas exclusivamente para os próprios imigrantes, cujos grupos se isolavam, utilizando o idioma do país de origem, repetindous os e costumes, princípios religiosos e morais da Igreja e país de onde provinham. Destaca, ainda, a diferença de postura em relação aos problemas econômicos e políticos de cada tipo de Igreja, manifestando participação ou indiferença aos problemaspolíticos do país receptor. Após estabelecer a diferença entre as posturas dessas Igrejas, apresenta onde se instalaram geograficamente e quais os efeitos sociológicos que suas presenças geraram em território argentino. Faz-se uma análise sociológica alicerçada nos estudiosos desse problema para, finalmente, serem efetuadas as críticas positivas e negativas da presença do protestantismo europeu e americano no Sul da América Latina, mostrando a grande importância de haver uma redefinição de valores para que as Igrejas de Imigração não caminhem na contramão da história. The present article intends to give a historical idea of the Protestantism in the Argentinean territory, going back to the presence of the Protestants, European, and American immigrants in this country. It also tries to clear out the existence of the differentiation of the two categories of protestants which flourished from Argentinean ground: the Mission Churches, which has the purpose to evangelize everyone, using the country language, and the immigration churches, that exist exclusively to the immigrants, which groups used to get isolated, speaking the origin country language, repeating their routines, religious and moral principles from church and from the country where they came from. It also highlights, the difference of the posture concerning the economical and political problems of each kind of church, showing participation or indifference to the political problems of the country which received them. After establishing the difference among the postures of these churches, it presents where they get located and which the sociological effects they caused within the Argentinean territory. A sociological analysis is done based upon those who studied this problem, until finally a positive and negative criticism about the presence of the European and American Protestantism in South America could be written, showing the great importance of having a redefinition of values in a way that the immigration churches would not walk the wrong way of history. |
